Having dogs on a plane are much less terrorizing than snakes but nobody wants their pet disturbing everyone.

Stay in the Carrier
We know your pooch would prefer to lie in your arms or sit on your lap for the duration of the flight. However, airlines do not allow your dog to be free in the cabin. They must stay contained inside the carrier and it is recommended that they stay under the seat in front of you. We recommend moving the carrier closer to your seat between your legs so they have some more space.
If your dog is under distress we recommend unzipping the carrier slightly and slipping in your hand or foot. They will be comforted with your presence, even if it's a stinky foot.
Medicating your Pooch
Some dogs might need a small sedative to help them get through the flight. I know some humans that could use that too. Please follow the directions from your veterinarian and you should use before travel so that you can prepare for any side effects.
Take off & Landing
Most of the time your dog will be sleeping in the carrier since they are secured in their little cave. During take off they will feel the same gravitational forces we feel which will often cause some moving around. This is totally normal, no need to panic. Landing can often be a firm "thud" with decelerating forces. Again, normal to expect them to shift while they wonder what is going on.
Dogs have an amazing ability to observe feeling of those around them. If you can exude confidence and calmness they will feel comfortable. If Mom/Dad are calm, all is good. However, you are freaking out... your dog will too. Be strong for your pet and your journey will be wonderfully uneventful.
